Can anyone recommend a resort in SE Asia that is kids friendly?

In particular someplace that has a good Kids club for two kids aged 3 and 7?

not likely to find anything like that BUT

in most places in SE Asia you can ask the desk to arrange for a "nanny" to take care of the kids during your stay.

It will usually be one of the off-duty desk staff and the rate will be on the order of US$20 per (12 hour) day.

ttompatz is spot on as always.

We have stayed at numerous places in the Philippines (from bungalows to resorts) and have never had a problem getting a nanny. In the resorts, there were always other kids to play with.

I think it just depends on your idea for a vacation. We never really wanted to leave our son in a kids club all day. So, we just would book a nanny for a couple of hours while my wife and I did a bit of diving or had a romantic dinner.

For our next trip, we have found a nanny to travel with us (found her through a friend living there). She will be with us 24 hours per day. We pay her room and food and an extra $25 per day.

Where and when are you going? I'd be happy to report back to you when we get back. We leave around the 25th of January and come back around the 1st of March.

I'd like to hear about your experience when you come back in March.

When we are in the Phils or Thailand we usually just hire a nanny for the month or two that we are there.

The average rate for a nanny is about p3000 + room and board in the Philippines and about B2500 per month (+ same benefits) in Thailand.

Rates for one-off single days or short stays (less than a month) are much more expensive (US$20 per day + meals) but are very easy to arrange at the front desk of your hotel/resort.
