In Australia-the home of the Ugg, about 10 years ago I noticed females wearing UGG boots...
So I asked my friends, and they they said that mane women are wearing them those days....
I called BS on that one and googled these "females" they told me were wearing them....
Low and behold, women had them on their feet....
I cant be the only one who thinks UGG boots for women is strange???? |

Back home, years ago when they first came out, I used to call them uglies, and my little sister owned 3 pairs of the medium and tall variety, as well as a pair of slippers. The only time I ever borrowed a pair was to out to my backyard to keep the dog company while he did his business in the freezing winter. He's small, and it ensured that I didn't forget about him and end up with a pupsicle.
Now, here, I wear them every day in school in the winter. It's just too darned cold. They're still ugly, but I got them in purple to up the ugly factor for fun and the fact that they match nothing, therefore match everything. I did see some that looked like tall motorcycle boots (real leather outside), but had the soft inside. I seriously considered them because they looked nothing like Uggs, but the markup here is way to much to justify it.
I agree on Birkenstocks, but I still wear them during the day in the summer. I'd never have owned a pair back home. Asia's freed me up a little with that. Nighttime, though, I wear prettier footwear. |

I have been noticing my male university students wearing UGG boots, and at first I was shocked and had a good laugh. But then I saw four or five wearing them around the campus. Some of them were even wearing "skinny jeans" with the boots....
So I asked my students and they said that many men are wearing them these days.....
I called BS on that one and googled the celebrities they told me were wearing them....
Low and behold, celebrities had them on their feet....

YES. Uggs were originally made for surfers in Australia.
I'd say, though, that celebrities wearing Uggs now are a bit behind the curve. |

What's wrong with jokers wearing Uggs? You guys yanks, or what?
I've worn ugg boots for years, but this winter my feet are freezing (because I didn't bring them with me this time). I've looked all over K - and can't find proper 'man' size Uggs - so I guess I'll be freezing for another 86 days.
Go uggs. |

I'm not sure what size they go up to, but the Lotte Department store in Incheon has men's Uggs. I saw some pretty manly looking ones (they looked like rocker boots.
On another note:
Uggs have terrible traction, for the most part. I want to get some proper snow boots for this year. I'm looking to spend between 150 and 200k, so any recommendations would be great. I'll wear the Uggs in school, but trek here in proper snow boots. |

Uggs have been around NZ since the 80's.
Back then it was common to see male Maori Gang members wearing them while watching sports games in winter, i.e Rugby League which is a very rugged game.
I'd wear them if I could find male ones, because it gets so cold here. Having warm feet shouldn't be laughed at, it should be on everyones wish list
I'm actually very surprised male Korean's don't wear them more... especially wih the whole metrosexual thing here |

lol.....you wear them |
No, I don't. I wear denim jackets with metal patches and bullet belts, but what would it matter if I did wear them? Are you so insecure about yourself that you need to find fault in what others wear? Grow up, man. |
chill out kiddie......lol insecure...... |

fUUGly boots, no way!
A formless atrocity worn on the feet made famous by Aussie sheep shearers from the 30's, surely we can do better than that? |

I am not crazy about the style, the bottoms seem really flat and uncomfortable. I need to elevate my heels at least a little bit to walk properly.
The problem is even the real ones just look like the crappy knockoffs now. :/ |
