All I got to say is this....I see many bald/no hair/bald headed guys in China! Japan, korea, etc....if ginger worked.....even the old remendies......why don't they try it?

1. There is no relation between the availability of a remedy with the morbility of a diease world wide (America offers the best treatment for diabetes in the world, there are still tens of thousands of Americans die of diabetes each year, much higher than any African country....you might think my comparison is nonsense, that is how you did yours, think of it)...

2. Just like some previous posts said: some guys dont give it a fuk if they are bald or not (especially in china guys usually get bald after they become middle aged), no matter how popular ginger therapy is in China, they wont even try.

I didn't bother quoting your whole post but rest assured that everything you wrote is utter rubbish.

Trust me, if there was a miracle cure for baldness it would not be overlooked. Please try using logic and reason when thinking, and especially before posting.

You didnt bother quoting the whole post thats why you mis-interpretted it.

1. I never ever said ginger is a miracle therapy...f*** whoever thinks that.

2. I said no one can prove ginger is less effective than the FDA approved drug propecia ( neither can anyone prove it is more effective, why? because there is no such study. no data! )...show me your evidence before you say mine is rubbish.

3. There are thousands of herbal medicines are used to treat various ailments in the world, most EMPIRICALLY, only very very few of them were studied (eg. st John's wort, Ginko, Artimisinin etc) and thus proved to be pharmacologically effective. but herbals without being studied are not necessarily in-effective...

I studied Saw palmetto extract and Propecia two years ago, both could be used to treat enlarged prostate and hair loss, to your surprise, they work through a similar mechanism...although the active elements in Saw palmetto are not well known yet... I didnt recommend this herbal here because its more difficult to get it in Korea.

4. Here is my philosophy in medication: when there is no significantly effective treatment, choose the natural cheaper (usually they are also most practised) ones...Just in another post, some posters talked about treating commom cold with Coke, I wont say its rubbish because so far there is no cure for cold in the world, (expensive medicines dont cure either, only relieve symptoms) , if someone recommend cheaper relief therapy (like chicken soup, ginger tea, etc) why not just give it a try?

5. Google "ginger hair loss" please...( I am really happy Google is not run by China, otherwise more people would say its a Chinese myth etc).

To those who might be concerned:

Besides the two FDA approved drugs (Minoxidil and Propecia). There is one (and only one) device that has been approved by FDA is --laser hair comb.

The laser hair comb basically works similarly as (but much better than )an ordinary comb does, which nourishes the hair follicles by stimulating the scalp and increasing the blood flow.

Of course its way more expensive than just a comb. I think it costs around $150-200. check it out if interested.

Meh. I started thinning as soon as I finished uni... and to be honest, I think girls actually started showing MORE interest after I did (which is not to say that a lot of girls had been showing interest up to that point).

I think sometimes you need a knock to the ego or a reason to sort of stop feeling so pretty in order to start letting your personality shine on through.

I've never been one of those 'I want to be beautiful' people... and I can't imagine anyone finding that sort of vanity thing attractive, but to each their own, I guess.

It didn't even really seem to be an issue with anyone until I came to Korea... where someone feels the need to point it out every single day, and every time I go to get a haircut the barber insists on cutting it in a combover way instead of just cutting it super-short like I want it, and I have to fight and fight and fight in order to not walk out of there looking like a broken, insecure 49 year old.

How to stop the hair growth completely? Is burning the follicles with laser the only way to do it? I'm getting tired of shaving my head all the time. Oh, and shaving beard twice a day to look clean is pretty tiring, too.

Someone should invent a pill that stopped beard from growing. He or she would be the richest person in the world in no time!

Today some of my students called me ugly to my face yet again. This time they said it was because of the wrinkles on my forehead.

I think I can stand it once or twice, but I'm actually approaching my breaking point. I mean, hearing that stuff over and over again leaves a kind of tension that just builds and builds... and it seems that lately I've just been getting it from everyone, constantly, non-stop.

I think I'm developing a complex.

They're also demanding that I shave my beard on a daily basis. Every class, there's always one. It's making me really angry... I mean, I don't go around making demands that anyone else change their appearance, but maybe I should.

One of the girls who called me ugly today has an acne problem that will probably scar her permanently, and the other is overweight and just generally unattractive. I didn't point either of these things out because it just seems nasty and like I'm sinking to their level, but now I'm wondering if I should have.

Seriously, this has to stop... I'm really freaking isolated and lonely and full of despair and misery anyway, and I don't need their crap adding extra anxieties to my already borderline psychotic state. I've tried the whole 'it's really rude to say that' thing... I don't think they don't understand, and to be honest, I don't think they care.

I'm starting to think that the only possible solution is to just say 'sure, I'll shave my beard if you fix your teeth', or 'if you stop wearing those dorky glasses' or 'if you stop doing that weird thing with your eyes' or 'if you lose weight' or 'if you develop a more interesting personality and stop making all those annoying sounds to express excitement', or even 'if you stop being such a @#$^ing idiot and actually try to learn something instead of staring into that gd mirror all the time'.

I HATE Middle School.

dont let it get to you their just kids and even worse is they are going through puberty. One reason I dont want to have children is because I know they would go through puberty at some point.

You know, I had this exact same thought yesterday as well. The little ones are one thing-- I mean, at least they usually have some degree of charm and can be respectful (even if it is out of fear)... these kids are awkward and rude and entitled and spoiled, and they they give you only the barest minimum unless they can't help it. They also hold grudges after you've punished them for a very good reason.

I couldn't imagine finishing work and then having to see one of those in my home, eating my food and treating me like a slave every day.

@ ESL Milk "Everyday"

Students in middle school have the foulest mouth...

When I was in middle school and high school, all teachers without any exception became our favorite topics, secondary to celebrity news... their hair, their face, their talks, their romantic relationships, marriages...etc etc

You really should not care that much, and neither is it likely you are the only one they make mean comments to.

If the kids are really little, it doesn't bother me too much when they call me demorli 데머리 or 마빠기 - however you spell them. But it does bother me when the kids say that when their parents are right their, and the parents start laughing. I'd like to learn how to say, "Excuse me, but it looks like your little mutt is off its leash." Something like that, anyway.

Sometimes, a young adult will make a comment. It still throws me off and pisses me off to no end. Mad

I'd get a prescription for proscar (generic propecia) asap. Ask for proscar, which is in 5mb tablets (propecia is 1mg), and then get a pill splicer and cut them in quarters. It'll end up being like 15,000/month. I got an Rx from an international clinic in Itaewon.

Word of warning: You may have initial shedding on rogaine, but don't worry, as that means that it is working!!! So, don't give up. It takes months to see a difference, and in some men there is no regrowth, but you will certainly save the hair you already have, which is good enough.

Seriously, look into dermmatch also. It's painless, undetectalbe, and extremely effective.

Good Luck!

Very excellent advice. All I'll add is, Fincar is a good, cheap Indian substitute for proscar.

How long has propecia and rogaine(sp) been on the market now? A couple of decades? Honestly there's no excuse to be bald in this day and age, in fact I'm starting to equate bald men with poor people that couldn't afford the meds to prevent going bald.

Wow...
Propecia and rogaine are not cures. They can help maintain hair or even regrow some, but not much more than that. Genes are powerful things.
