I want to get my teeth white.
This is not a joke. I think white teeth look good.
And I drink too much coffee.

Well, has anyone had their teeth whitend in Korea.
I think the procedure is called bleached.

The procedure cost about $100 US.
What does it cost in Korea?

by the way I tried those strips, they worked a little, but did not last more than a few months. And you have to put them on everynight, which is annoying.
I would rather get them bleached.

Wish I knew exactly, but I think there are different techniques or levels or something. I am curious as well. My teeth aren't in bad shape, but years of smoking and coffee are taking its toll on the pearlies. Anyone?

Also due to smoking and coffee I get my teeth cleaned/scaled every six months at the dentists and that suffices. Altho' you can have your teeth whitened by bleaching it damages the enamel and is not good for your teeth. Also while it looks great on movie stars in films it looks really unnnatural in real life. A friend of mine had it done and his teeth look really weird. I wouldn't recommend it. Teeth are meant to look milky-white rather than white-white.

As far as I know, there are a few other procedures they can do which don't involve bleach. Maybe I'm completely wrong, and I definitely not a dentist, because I sure wouldn't be here if I were (though, there might be a lot of good money in that considering the state of some people's teeth here)...Look into it and let us know, because I am thinking of having something done also...

You can buy the Arm and Hammer baking soda whitening toothpaste at Carrefour. It really does work, after one tube you will notice a different, if you want more instant results than look in Carrefour or larger department stores for whitening products, they have a ton of them now.

You can get scaling done at your local dentist... or a bottle of bleach is fairly cheap in carrefour, I hear.

I had it done at a dentist near at Kangnam Station and paid 500,000 won. That included a one hour trip once a week for four weeks plus a take home gell to do at nights. Maybe it was a bit much. The Zoom brand procedure is quite popular in the US and can be done in just one visit of one hour. I might have gone overboard and might have been dupped. They only offered two packages, a two week for 300,000 or four weeks for 500,000. My teeth were pretty bad so I opted for the four weeks. I am satisfied, the only side effect was sensitive teeth for a short time after the procedure.

I think the price is average for Korea, from what I have heard from Korean friends. I would be interested to know if anyone has done it much cheaper.

If you do a search on the web there are a few companies in the US that offer the service by mail. You get exactly the same thing as at a dentist. they send out the things that you use to make a mould of your teeth and then you post it back. They then make a perfect fitting mouth tray that they post back with the bleaching agent. you need the mouth tray so the bleach doesn't get onto your gums.

There are a few different brands and types of bleaches. I'd go for the one that you only put on for 1 hour per day... not the overnight one. I had my tray made in Australia for about twice the price of the US internet ones but I wised up and bought the bleach over the internet at close to a third of the price my Australian dentist was charging.

I would also reccomend buying some sensitive teeth toothpaste. I guess you can get it in korea but don't know.
