I am trying to find the cheapest place, or even just a place that will do the stuff I need. To renew w/ SMOE you need a health check that includes an HIV test, a cannabinoid test, and a tuberculosis test (even though it is not required for kimmi, which I would love to rant about). So, I am just trying to find a cheap and easy place to do this, preferably in central Seoul-I am hoping to just get these three things done, as the rest is just a waste anyway. The major hospitals seem to have a racket going on this. When I did this stuff outside of Seoul, it ran W25,000 but Severance changes W60,000 and SNUH charges 70,000.

Have you come across a cheaper place? Please share.

No one, huh?

FYI, SNUH has bumped the price for foreigners to W90,000, while for Koreans, it is only 49,000 (according to a coworker who just started 2 weeks ago). My other coworker said that the HIV and tuberculosis check are only required every two years for Koreans, and that it is free.

Hey...where can I do this for free? Why the hell does SMOE (I don't know about EPIK) require us to pay to prove we are drug free? I have the national health insurance. Can anyone tell me if it should be free for people like me?

FYI, Severance charges 120,000 if you have the HIV, Tuberculosis, and drug test for weed. ~60,000 of this is for the consultation fee.

the big hospital by Coex, Samsung station do medical checks for 51,000 (including the discount for SMOE employees). Probably not the cheapest but cheaper than SNUH etc

Can someone who has taken the medical test recently tell me what method (urine/blood/hair) they used for the cannabinoid test?

Thanks

Mmstyle - why the hell should it be for free? Would it be free or even that price in the greatest country in the world? What is wrong with you people, just pay the damn money and be done with it. You wouldn't do anything for free would you? Americans - arseholes so tight! Rolling Eyes

I got it done at a small clinic before but was told to get it done again as that place wasn't approved! My school paid for the 2nd test though! Ended up going to the National Medical centre near Dongdaemun.

Because my previous school used to pay for it, and it was only required the first time I got my visa. Because 1 coworker only had to pay the first time and paid almost half the price at the same hospital, and every other worker at my school gets it done for free, and if had realized all of this, I would have done mine at the same time. I don't know why you think it's so unreasonable.

Why are you calling me names? I have never said anything insulting to you, there's no call for your attitude.

Why oh why would you think I would compare this situation with a country with the arguably the worst health care system in the "developed world." Oh, and wow....generalize much? I usually get insulted on this board for my politics being the opposite of what you assume wiganer.

The smaller local clinics usually don't offer the cannabinoid tests
