I can probably improvise a little if I can't find some of the ingredients, but is it possible to find sweetened condensed milk here?
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND� Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch-flavored chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts |

| Yep. During summer Koreans often add it to their homemade pat bing su so you can find gigantic squeezy bottles of it in Lotte Mart (and no doubt elsewhere). I can't for the life of me remember precisely which section it is in but I have vague memories of it being in the milk and yogurt area. |

| Red Door is the only genuine American goods mart I've seen so far that sells actual American market things. It's small, but cans of that milk and other goodies are possible. If you don't see it, you can ask the lady to get something for you. Foreigner mart is great for nuts and cheese. |

Haddon house supermarket has real actual American things too. And it's much, much bigger than the red door. |

Thanks for the recipe, that's awesome!
I may have to skip the butterscotch chips and maybe substitute something else, but coconut can't be that difficult. I saw a picture of goodies that a facebook friend had out for a party, and I was suddenly miserable with longing for these! |

You can buy everything in Korea. Do you know about Bangsan Market near Euljiro 4 Station? You can go there. All the supermakets have condensed milk. I think you can find it in the baking area. But can't remember exactly. Usually I see it around the patbingsu ingredients.
You can also order everything from Gmarket and many other Korean internet baking sites. |

| In E-mart, condensed milk is in the baby food section. I spent about 30 minutes looking everywhere but that aisle before I asked. |

| Found out it's called 연유 = yeon yu. I know for sure they have it at my local Lotte Mart in Seohyeon. |

Yea, I found it yesterday. I nominate it for, "The best food store in Korea," award. LOL The Philippino guys who run it speak excellent English and are friendly enough. They don't have some things the Red Door lady can get, but they have a lot more and are in fact a real Western style supermarket. I only wish they'd remove the commonly found Korean stuff you can get at every mart in every neighborhood doing the exact same thing and use that space for even more of the unique hard to find imports selection impossible to find elsewhere. Haddon House isn't a store doing the same thing as everyone else.
The Haddon house isn't in a convenient easy to find location. It was difficult trying to get a taxi there, I got really lost, and the translator on the phone couldn't help, but I asked around and walked a ways and found it after an hour. Someone asked some 7 years ago on this site, but the directions given are for Hannam mart under a Volvo place; not Haddon mart. If it were close to a subway exit and in pedestrian traffic, it's be crowded and busy like Foreigner Mart. Actually Foreigner Mart needs to further expand their floor to make enough room for what they are doing, because it's too cramped. Being talented enough to know getting a taxi in such a dead quiet area Haddon House is in, one of the guys took me in the store car to Oksu as soon I checked out without a need to ask or talk about it. They are good people. Big American turkeys and bacon are to be had as well as many gourmet European things like Grana Padano cheese as well. 1st place I've seen real heavy whipping cream for sale. Lots of good stuff possible at this store. Well worth finding it. |

Indeed. It is a different store than Hannam Mart and larger. From Hannam Mart, you go up the street, under a pedestrian over pass, and turn left at the intersection at Dan Kook University, go up the hill pass the embassies and UN Village, and when you come down from the hill, it's on the right on a corner. If walking, this is a hike; not a short easy walk. Taxi's most likely won't know Hannam Heights apartments nor Haddon House, but you can be taken to UN Village and walk the 1 km or so further or just tell them to keep going up the street until you see it on the right. It's some place in the middle between Yaksu, Oksu, and Hangangjin stations. Sorry, I can't give street names or other major landmarks.

Sweetened condensed milk isn't as readily available in the winter as it is in the summer. My local E-Mart only has it in the summer. However, I'm sure you can find it.
As for flaked coconut, you can probably find it at the baking market mentioned by another poster. I found it in a baking store in Ilsan, in rather non-descript packaging. I think most of that store is stocked by the baking market.
You can make butterscotch chips (you'd need to get some white chocolate at the baking market for this recipe, though).

Likewise, you could make butterscotch sauce and just drizzle it on top. |
