I believe there is nothing wrong with people (men and women) to walk around in public shirtless. I know many may not agree and it would be dangerous especially for the females but for me personally it is no big deal. Total nakedness is out because it would be rather gnarly to sit in the same place where someone didn't properly wipe not to mention other nasty stuff one could be exposed to.

I am about 99% sure that in the future no top will be a socially acceptable summer look for all. There are several countries even now that already employ this fashion, including some island nations. I always laugh when I watch future fashion in movies as fully covered jumpsuits or 80s outfits.

Korea will become the place to be if this ever becomes true. Just imagine how much accidental "oops sorry bout that" motor boating you could do on a bus during rush hour.

I support the topless movement to a degree. Beaches, recreational parks, etc are cool. But a topless dude in a restaurant is just wrong. Women can wear bikinis to the mall, but we all agree it's in poor taste just as toplessness would be.

To summarize: both men and women should be able to go topless in the same areas they would wear bathing suits or perhaps at the park for a summer picnic.

Sexual harassment/groping is inappropriate behavior and there is nothing funny about touching a person's naughty bits without their consent!

In parts of Europe, you can see nudists sun bathing at the public swimming pools and parks where it's a family environment. They don't see it taboo to see public nudity. While dogs are OK in a restaurant, people must wear clothes. Same goes for public transportation and city streets, but in the parks and garden parties, swimming and sunbathing in the buff go together. I like the liberal attitudes towards accepting humans for what we are rather than being so reserved mannered to the point of being ashamed of what we actually look like. I myself prefer to wear something, but not disturbed by seeing nudity.

It takes time for a culture to develop and manifest a relaxed attitude towards what are accepted customs with individuals being recognized as people free to be the unique individuals they are rather than adhering to a strict set of social norms with scorn for deviating from that stereotype. There was a time when both Europe and America lived by very strict conservative social norms, but it all changed after WW2 and especially after the Berlin wall fell. Korea is nothing close to Europe, but is in fact way too reserved to be relaxed and cool about it all instead of being so embarrassed and under pressure all the time. Korea's big wall will have to fall too before they get real about it all. Heck, I got chewed out for not donning the standard issue Speedos kind of gear they have at an indoor pool, but I wore surfing shorts and T-shirt without even thinking about it, because that's the sort of casual wear we put on to go to the pool, resort, or park. What would had happened if I'd been shirtless at the Korean indoor pool?

People should start going shirtless more in Korea. It will take time for it to be accepted but let's get the ball rolling. I do my part a couple of times a week anyway.

Hey, I know one guy who's a step ahead of you...the Dbag who feels the need to jog shirtless and sweaty through one of the most crowded pedestrian areas in Seoul (Jongno back alleys) on weekend nights.

I'm a neophile and would bore quickly of breasts were they constantly on view. This would likely lead me to kinkier thrills and possibly to some socially unacceptable perversions. No, I think it best to keep them covered in public and maintain the thrill of the grand unveiling.

Well that was the thrill of the victorian age. I think it's kind of wonderful. Leave things to your imagination more. When people are all revealing it kinda loses... everything, all appeal.

On another note, wasn't there a law passed a couple of years ago in America against teenagers exposing their boxers (that's those short-type undergarments, dunno what USA calls them) above their low-ridden trousers?
