It's on a long term loan to the violinist. Looks like she grew up in London. Interesting thing is she seems to be a Korean in citizenship only, looks like she grew up in London. So I think she wasn't your typical naive Korean girl that would leave her purse on the table to get her sandwich. But then again it seems she had quite a privileged upbringing. |
Now I'm more confused. What's with the original Reuters article which implied that the musician and the owner were two separate people? |

It's on loan, therefore the owner and user are two different people. Owner expects the violin back, probably been in the family for a long time and the owner wants it played. |

Makes sense.
Guess the original Reuters article was wrong(not just inaccurate) when it claimed the owner was Kym Min-Jin.
Dunno why I chose this of all things to nitpick... |

Don't feel too bad for her, though. I heard that ever since she lost the violin, she's kept her chin up. |

Hmmm....She's in on it, maybe?
Truckers used to set up their trucks to be "stolen" by the mob. Hell, maybe they still do...
And really? A $23,000 reward for a 1.9 million dollar violin? Yeah...THAT will make people want to turn it in. |
