Using your T-card gets you a significant discount on the second bus, but I don't think it's free...but it might be, I don't remember. Definitely use the card though. Seriously though, as nice as it might be to live in Haebongcheong, the commute would not be worth it for me. It's bad enough when I do it on Sundays to go to church and on a weekday morning it's probably standing room only for the entire ride.

Yeah... I hope I end up disagreeing with you on whether it's worth it. One thing is I'm probably only doing it Mon-Thurs, or even less. And... I don't know... people seem to want to make me feel guilty about not living in a more 'Korean' neighborhood, but I really just don't want to. I'd miss the cheap rents and international restaurants and being able to walk to good nightlife, as well as speaking English, of course. I mainly just don't want to be so far from Seoul as Bundang, not to mention rents are much higher despite it being far more boring, from what I can see. I think I'd get lonely being stuck in the suburbs.

Maybe I'll just take the bus for half of it, if I can figure that out, then take the subway. I'd probably get a seat and could even do some prep work if that happens.

You have a transfer time limit of 30 minutes. If you transfer in that time, there is no charge up to a certain distance.

How was the commute? I was debating on renewing my job in the Seoul Station area and commuting to Bundang but then thought the traffic in the morning would be too much.[/quote

The commute begins tomorrow. What are your thoughts on which bus to take? Seoul Station is pretty easy to get to from Haebangchon... is there an express bus that goes from there to Bundang??

The M4102 is the express bus from Seoul Station. There are only 4-6 stops on both sides of the trip. It stops at Jonggak Station, Seoul Station, Myeongdong, the cinema on the opposite side of Myeongdong, and then off to Bundang. This bus does not allow standing and there will be a small red counter at the front of the bus showing how many seats are left.

Interesting. Do you know how frequently it leaves? I'll be leaving around 1:00 or so, so at least it's not rush hour.

Also... is there a bus from Haebangchon to Seoul Station??
