My Korean friend loves apple products, and wants to buy an iPad. She's got a still-sealed 64gig 3rd gen iPod touch that she wants to sell to raise funds for her new toy.

She doesn't know what to charge, but it's in immaculate condition, so if you're interested, please let me know. Obviously, as it's never been opened, please quote reasonable prices.

She got it at an airport in Australia, and isn't sure if there's applecare, but either way it's brand new.

Best,
NYC

Yeah, that happens a lot to me. But it's not NYC who sucks. It's her friend.

Honestly, the 4g looks cooler, and you have the cam added. Still, she does suck a little. We're workmates, so I'm trying to help her out.

Anyway, I told her that the new 4gen is going for 567,000 won, so she's going to have to go lower than that. She bought it a year ago in an Australian airport for the equivalent of 700,000 won. She already had the 8g and wanted to put more music on it, but never got around to it. She was hoping to make back what she spent, but I told her she's going to have to take a loss.

She's wants 500,000 (which is still a lot) but I could probably get her down to about 450,000, if anyone wants to save a hundred bucks. She's been drooling over my ipad since I got it earlier this year.

Realistically, she will probably have to go much lower than that.

It's in mint condition so she may find a buyer. It's up to her, really. I'm just helping her out.

True. But seeing that she's "hoping" to get back what she spent (or close to that), it'd be very hard for her to swallow the "realistic" part. But if she's not running out of saliva yet, then maybe. Just maybe. Someone will take the item for just a little under the asking price... in time.

May I drool over the Ipad too? I got plenty of saliva. Love the unit. Hate Itunes.

Eh, she may find a buyer for 450,000. I explained it to her and got her to agree to that number. We'll see. She said that if she can't get that, she'll give it to a relative as a Christmas gift.

EDIT: I've got an android phone and have had plenty of apple products. Itunes isn't great, but it's easy enough to use, even with pirated stuff. As long as you keep your music stored on an external hard drive, you can install it on any computer to itunes. None of that authorized computer bs.

I've never had a problem with my music and Itunes, no matter where I stored my stuff, and most of my music and audio has been "borrowed" from the internet.

Has your friend looked on Korean forums and posted there? There may be people more willing there.

Either way, she's got to face the question of what's more important, trying to sell it, or trying to get a lot of money?

I think when Frisbee (an apple reseller) was trying to get rid of their 3rd generation stock, they priced that unit at about 450,000. Of course that was right before 4th generation had come to Korea.

She's not going to post an ad. As I said, I'm doing this as a favor, as I know that if she got an ipad, she'd be in a great mood and it would make the last week or so of classes before vacation much easier LOL

Anyway, if anyone's interested, give me a shout. Even slightly lower might be okay, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll just read on my iPad at work.

To be honest, I'd have preferred a Kindle or Sony reader, but my dad got me the iPad as a gift when I visited home earlier in the year.

Ah, you poor girl. I'll help you out and trade you a Kindle for it, ok? Wink

Or trade the dad? I want one of those Ipad giving ones for Christmas.

LOL

I never used to get big gifts like this when I was younger. I remember being jealous because my friend's parents knew a better tooth fairy. I think it's because he really missed me.

My dad's awesome, though.

I saw a link on gmarket with a lower price, so I'm wondering if anyone would bite if I could convince her to drop the price to 400k.

Can she not post it on a Korean site herself? She should know of a few sites.
Maybe because of the 'lower than expected' price of the ipad, people are more interested in that.

I would be interested but I got an iphone4 last month!
