I just learned about a new microbrewery in Itaewon. Craftworks Taphouse. http://craftworkstaphouse.com/ Anyone been? Is it good? It is about time Itaewon got a microbrew pub. Most expensive pints are only supposed to be KRW5000. Pretty cheap for good beer.

I'm biased because I know quite a few of the people involved, but, I gotta say: they did a damned good job. I've done events with the beer before, and it's the same quality from Ka-Brew you expect, but the cooking staff is what makes it. The meat is just damned good man. They've raised the bar for any place calling itself a "bistro" in Korea.

I went there on opening night and liked it. Large enough place, the beer tasted pretty good, great compared to Cass, Hite, and Max. I'll probably go again.

what else was on the menu? Their website doesn't have the menu up. What was the price of the steak?

Whoa, no smoking. OK, scratch that place off the list. Not even a non-smoking section? Pretty lame.

There's a covered, wrap-around veranda and I think you can smoke in there.

Where exactly is it located? Anyone have a link for their menu? Sounds worth checking out.

The place is incredible! I have been the last two nights. The beer is all real micro-brew, not pasteurized like the rest of the crap out there. The prices are great - 4,000 to 6,000 for a pint of amazing beer. Their hefeweizen is only 4,000 and is superb. Especially compared to Maloney's who has an imported hefeweizen for 8,500.

The just got a new chef and have been trying out different menus each night. A few nights ago was all you can eat pasta for 13,000 and last night was MEAT night. I had a grain-fed sirloin steak for 19,000. Perfect! Again, the beer alone is worth it.

The veranda out back is smoking and is heated so it's great.

Website with directions: http://craftworkstaphouse.com/

They've been posting their nightly menu on their facebook page and will launch a full menu sometime soon: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Craftworks-Taphouse-Bistro/123505731037061

Quiz night was cool, too. We came in 3rd and got a free round!

Anyway, more info on the website. Again, I can't stress enough how awesome it is to have a place like this!

Ok, I like a nice wrap-around. Back on the list. I'm gonna get really corned there in the next few days.

The no-smoking policy is reason enough for me to check it out.

Any exposure to tobacco smoke even from the occasional cigarette to second-hand smoke can cause immediate damage to your body, according to a report being released today by the U.S. Surgeon General.
