It's not perfect (sux for creating word type files), but for viewing pleasure, it's tough to beat.

I guess it depends on what your doing, because I create "word" type files using Pages just fine. It's good for what it does, but if you need other people to edit your document then it's not so good, but if they just need to read it I just email it to them as a PDF and they're good to go. I guess it's also not good if you're trying to edit someone else's document and send it back to them.

I find that exported PDFs are often unreadable on the opening end. I've tried to make them on the iPad, only to be unable to read them on a PC.

Exported PDF's from Pages? So far I haven't had problems with people trying to open my files on a PC.

yup, choosing PDF format when emailing doc created in Pages bites for me. I haven't tried to see if it makes a difference if I just transfer it over using iTunes.

Pages in general seems cumbersome to me. Keynote and Numbers, by contrast, flow like water.

brought wifi only pad from the states. Pretty disappointed in usefulness. I mean it's a neat toy but the access to wifi is tenuous at best. Went to KT telecom to sign up for their wifi access and they told me I could get nespot but not access to QOOK show. I would need a device that has a sim card for that I'm told. I ask her why would I need a sim for a wireless network and she just stares at me like I spit in her kimchi. Seems like you can't ever get a straight answer from anyone in telecom in this country. So I pay for the nespot access well pretty useless compared to how many QOOK hotspots I run across. Has anyone had similar experience with a touch?

I'm interested to see what the 16GB WiFi only iPad price will be. I have an iPhone and don't need another data plan. I would use it mostly as a coffee table book/internet browser. Plus, its greats at database applications for work and the NES, SNES, Game Boy and Sega Emulators on it with the ability to play with my Wiimote are awesome!

For those interested, I've posted instructions on how to tether and iPad to an iPhone over bluetooth on my blog here: http://sohandsometeacher.com/2010/10/12/use-ipad-in-korea-for-free-with-your-iphone/ It requires a jailbroken iPad and $5 for the app (to be used on your iPad. The iPhone requires no jailbreak or application (since it uses the built-in tethering function).

Now that most of the data plans are unlimited, you can suck down tons of data with your iPad and iPhone and not worry about caps.

The iPad is already up in the Korean Apple site and it's not badly priced.

At the current crappy exchange rate, the low end iPad is about $550 USD, which is only about $15 more than what I would have paid for one back home if you include taxes.

Maybe this will put an end to all of highway robbery prices people are trying to get for selling iPads brought to Korea.

Also, I read somewhere that the Samsung Galaxy Tab was 1.1 Million Won without a contract. It looks like Apple has priced the 64GB 3G iPad at 1,039,000 Won!

I'm still going to wait for the iPad 2, but if that comes to Korea in a reasonable time frame...it will be nice to know that the price might be bearable.

Has anybody got a 64gb model on a 3G 2 year contract? If so, how much were you quoted as the total monthly bill. Thanks
