I was hoping I might be able to hit up Bali in the summer, some time around Mid July. It seems like buying tickets ahead of time pays off around here. I'm wondering where the best place is to look for airfare....I'm seeing 1024 CAD on www.farecompare.com and wondered if this is what I'm looking at or if there's a chance in hell I can find tickets for cheaper! |

If you've got the time to rout through KL, Air Asia is probably cheaper. |

Tickets outside of the USA are cheaper from travel agents (exept maybe air-asia). Another important thing, don't bother going to Jakarta, nothing there to see but people trying to rip you off and overcharge. For Indonesia take a direct flight to Yogyakarta (or Bali if you want to see Bali), the cultural capital of Java. You can easily catch the TransYogya bus to Jalan Marlioborough where all the quest houses are. You will thank me for this piece of info.
Maybe some remote destinations are accessible through Jakarta only, but you will want to see Yogya anyway, may as well fly direct. |
