My contract has ended and I'd like to take a couple of months to take TOSEL, TEFL, or CELTA course abroad. What certificate will be the best for my teaching career in Korea? |

It depends. If you are working for a schools that really cares about your qualifications and actually feels that a NET is capable of teaching a Korean, as opposed to just giving them conversation practice, then you might want to check out which TEFL course is right for you. But in the majority of cases, schools don't care. You're just there to look good, keep moms happy, keep the kids entertained, and possibly help them by exposing them to a native speaker. If you just want a pay rise, then check with the school board in the province where you want to work. Ask them if they would accept course x or course y. Korea accepts a lot of them. So, if you just want the pay raise then take the cheapest course (probably an online course) that will be accepted.
Just so that you know, there are also a few offered IN Korea. Often they are held in collaboration between a Korean university and an American university. So you get two TEFL certificates. They are often a lot easier to pass than something like the CELTA or Trinity TESOL. If you do decide to do a certificate course in Korea, don't do it in Seoul. They are way overpriced. Go to another city and pay half the price. |

The "search" lead me here. When you do find it, can you post the link here? |

I have been looking at taking one myself. The general consensus seems to be that a course needs to be 100 hours to be accepted. I'm about to take the course at http://www.teflonline.com/gone2korea/ just because it's cheap. |

It depends on what you want to do AFTER your certification.
If your only goal is some practical information and a pay bump in Korea then the cheapest 100 hour on-line course you can find will be fine.
IF your goal may reach beyond Korea then a real TESOL cert (120 hours with 6 hours of observed practicum with real students (not peers)) is the way to go.
IF you plan to go longer or farther afield (Europe if you are from the UK) or the countries with strong ties to the UK (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, etc) then the CELTA would not be a bad thing (with the YL module if you plan to work with kids).
