With GEPIK, what exactly do I have to do to re sign for another year? Do I just need a criminal records check done here in Korea, or do I just have to apply for a one year visa extension. The information on this is not exactly clear, though that seems to be the case whenever I have to deal with immigration.
My contract is up in March, but I want to get this done with as soon as possible. Also, I'm Canadian if it makes any difference. It doesn't make sense that I would have to get my diploma checked by a Consulate in Canada again, being that it hasn't gotten fake in the last year.
Thanks a lot for your help from anybody who had to do this. |

I just needed a signed contract from my school, but that was almost 2 years ago when I did that. You'll probably need a local Korean crc now AND if your old crc wasn't national, you'll have to turn one of those in, too. Also, if you haven't turned in an apostilled/certified copy of your diploma, that'll be required.
If you've met all the new requirements, then you generally just need the new contract and a korean crc. |

When I re-signed for another year all it took was the actual signing of a new contract, a new physical and blood work, and a trip to the immigration office in Suwon to renew my VISA status (make sure you ask for the multiple entry VISA if you intend to travel: they will default to the single entry type).
There may have been a CRC, but if there was it must have been done without my knowledge. My contract is the GEPIK contract. I was employed by my school directly, through an agent, rather than placed by GEPIK. I re-signed some time around May I think? My 2nd year started in August. |

Awesome, ok, that simplifies things. No one seems quite sure of what to do. |

7 things and 2 IFs.
ARC
Passport
New contract (with end dates clearly indicated)
Application
30k won fee (there is NO re-entry permit for registered foreigners any more - it is automatic and free).
Business registration from the school (photo copy)
Letter of guarantee (sponsorship) from the school
IF your previous E2 was granted by using an ORIGINAL degree you will need to obtain a copy with an apostille (K-consulate certification if you are Canadian).
IF your previous E2 was granted with a "local" or "state" CRC you will need to obtain a "national" CRC (mostly applies to Americans) with apostille.

you don't have to do the degree and crc check stuff until next year. Got a big official notice about it. All you need is a trip to the docs, your new signed contract, old arc, passport, and that should be it. |
