During my time here, I have had many things sent to me from abroad. Only one time did I have to pay an import tax. That was quite a while ago, for a Playstation 2. I also heard that you must pay this tax for an Amazon Kindle and some other things.
So, how do they decide what items get the import tax? Is it mainly electronics? Or, does it depend on the price? I am thinking about getting a pretty nice, expensive North Face coat sent it, is it likely that will receive the tax? Thanks for any help:) |

Thanks so much, looks like I will get taxed though. Always thought it was just on electronics. Anyway, thanks for posting that! |

If cost of item plus shipping is over 150,000won, it will get taxed. I've had stuff taxed once it went over this amount even though it was marked "gift" as well. |
