oops, didnt see this thread. I posted the same thing. I dont think they should ban guns in America though, we protected under the 2nd amendment, and to protect us from the crazy government if they should ever try to become totalitarian, which crazy obama would love to have happen.

I'm all in favor of banning guns. However, if we do need a reason to keep them, I think we should have them so that nutjobs like YOU can't cause the country any more harm than you have already (like by having kids that would be like you).

I'm not for banning guns, but I think you've got a few screws loose if you think that arming America's citizenry is going to somehow keep the government in check when you look at our military and police forces.

Fair enough..it just makes us feel like we would have a fighting chance if it should happen. We could perhaps make a dent if everyone rallied together against the government...And Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the Military from enforcing civil law, but im sure martial law would eventually take place and then yea, we'd all be screwed.

Yeah if there was just a law that could have stopped this...
Oh wait, turns out the guy was an ex-con who did time for stalking and shooting at his wifes vehicle.

He wouldn't be legally able to own a gun anyway. No worries. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, because armed insurrection is a great way to show your disagreement with legislation...

I'm going to ignore your atrocious writing skills. Just remember, it's a lot easier to knock down a building than to build it back up.

The best way is to scowl angrily at the guards as you shuffle into the concentration camp.

Do the anti-gun people think that humans have miraculously changed in the last few decades? Do you think that some higher power has infused every human on the planet with what we would call "humanity"?

Any reasonable person will KNOW that atrocities will come. Maybe they will come soon, maybe not for years to come (maybe right now, depending on your locale). But sooner or later, the question will become "How do we deal with it?".

Einstein's rational discussion and petitions for peace didn't slow down Hitler. Massive peaceful protests in Tienanmen Square didn't stop the People's Republic.

On the other hand, if you think guns are meaningless against an oppressive government, read up on brave little Gwangju Very Happy

It is pretty hard to fix a country when half of the people in your own government make it their sole purpose to fight everything you do. Bush and his cronies killed America and now the remaining republicans are trying to finisih the job.

Republicans only want power and do not care what they have to do to obtain it. They do not know how to govern properly and govern for the elite only, leaving the real people out.

Did you just put Obama and Hitler on the same level?
