I am looking for something like this: http://www.amazon.com/OSTER-Fast-Clipper-Model-76023-510/dp/B0012IXV7S
Hair clippers that have the various attachments to cut your hair different lengths and can have the guide removed to cut my scarier-by-the-day beard.
I am used to cutting my own hair and left my clippers behind in America.
I have tried emart, but they just have those cheap plasticy things that have a couple guides that don't really fit. They keep telling me they are made in Japan and such, but I don't want that battery powered junk, I need something that will get through my thick italian beard, haha.
I also tried the mall at the yongsan station and all there was there was a huge floor of seemingly separate sellers all selling the exact same products. I talked to several of them, but got tired of them all showing me the exact same stuff over and over.
Anyone have any success? I am thinking about maybe having one sent over from America, but I am worried about whether it will last on a power converter for very long. |

Check out hairdresser supply shops. I don't live in Seoul, so I don't know where they are, but if there's one store here, there's at least a hundred in Seoul. Expect to pay way too much. I bought a pair, plastic and battery/wall wart powered that are quite sharp and I guarantee could handle your beard. 60'000won. |

I found a great one at a place called HiMart in Yeongdeungpo-Gu. It's meant for top of the head hair, but it works good for beard stuff too - it's plenty powerful. The guides are a bit lacking, but I've gotten used to the fact that I have to choose either a 3mm or a 6mm when all I want is a 5.
Nowhere near as fancy as my multipivoting super awesome beard specific Wahl from home, though. Left the power cord on the bathroom counter the day I flew out. |

I've never seen a Wahl clipper in Korea, just the battery type light beard trimmers you've mentioned.
However, I bought my last pair of super heavy-duty Wahl hair clippers in a department store in Pattaya, Thailand. They are everywhere in Thailand (seems Thais cut their own hair, and maybe Koreans don't).
Good luck. |

Ask your local hair dresser where she buys hers. There are usually a couple beauty supply shops around town. They should have at least one pair. Or try Gmarket-it seems to have everything. |
