Whenever you see a travel article that starts with a cliche like "See old and new collide" you're reading lazy writing, filler in other words. The writer probably has never been to Daegu or half those other cities in their life. |

Somebody from the Daegu Board of Tourism must have paid them a lot of money for that lie.
Daegu's slogan is Colorful Daegu... ya, colorful like the inside of my toilet bowl after a night of drinking crappy Korean beer.
I will no longer trust Rough Guides. |

Top 10 lsts are totally lame.
And silkhighway is right. It's become cliche to refer to just about every Asian city as a place where old and new colide . . . ever watch the Discovery Channel Asia, CNN, or National Geographic (especially in the run-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics)? |

Only a matter of time before 10 Magazine or some online expat loser blogger who loves everything about Korea paraphrases the same article. |

Daegu doesn't even make my top-10 Korean cities to visit in 2011:
Tongyeong, Chuncheon, Busan, Jinju, Jeonju, Geoje, Cheongju, Daecheon, Andong, Gyeongju. |
