I live in the southeast corner of Seoul (Jamsil, line 2) station and I need to get to the gimpo airport by 8am on Saturday the 25th of December.
What is the easiest way to do this?
Do the subways run this early on a holiday? And if so, what lines?
How much would a cab cost?
How much time should I budget? Thanks for any advice! |

Doesn't KAL run a bus direct from Lotte Hotel (Jamsil station) to both airports (ICN and Gimpo - separate bus to each one.)
Check with the desk or concierge for specifics. They DO speak excellent English.
Oh, and yes, if you are traveling light, the subways run at their usual times on the 25th.

There is no reasonable way that you can get to Gimpo by 8:00 am using public transport. I don't know how long a cab will take early in the morning. 3 hours? You might want to just sleep at the airport. They have benches you can lay out on. Not the most comfortable thing to do but very practicle. I've done it before |

you could take a cab to Sinnohyeon Station Subway Line 9......this is the first station on the southeast end of Line 9.....the first train is at 5:37am......you will get to Gimpo at about 6:30am.........the first express train on saturday does not run until 6:10am.......
a cab to the airport would be cheap on saturday at that time also b/c there is no traffic....a cab to the airport would be under 20,000 |

This is nonsense.
There are two good ways to get to Gimpo by 8:00am by public transport from Jamsil:
1) Bus. There's the KAL Limousine bus (First bus is at 5:30am, they come every 30 mins, take 60 minutes). There's also the 6000 bus from Jamsil (first bus is 5:30am, they come every 15 minutes, take 80 minutes. Both leave from Jamsil Station/Lotte World, but from different bus stops. To see the bus stops, click the bus numbers in the link, and it will take you to Naver maps, click the stop you want to get on at, and it will show you a photo of the bus stop.

2) Subway. Find your way to Sinnonhyeon Station (taxi, bus, subway). Line 9 express train gets you there in 30 minutes. There will be one at 7:12, and 7:22. |
