Hey Guys,
Ive just (well a few minutes more pondering time away) from accepting a job at Gwangmyeong Haan Middle school. Ive chosen the location because i want to really be as close as physically possible to being in Seoul (but i was too late for SMOE) application. Ive heard you are very conveniently located here. Can anyone give me any feedback on that?
Ive also heard that anyang is a fun place to go out and meet other foreign teacers - anyone know what else there is to do in the area?
THANKS!! |

I don't know anything about that school but yeah, Gwangmyeong is a great area. If you're feeling good about the job I'd take it.
Gwangmyeong is stupid close to southwest Seoul. You can be in Hongdae in about a half hour on the subway. Cab would probably run you 15,000 max. Itaewon is a little longer, probably around an hour on transit (which is still a reasonable commute time for Seoul in my opinion). If you're working for GEPIK you will not get closer to Seoul than this.
The area around Cheolsan station in Gwangmyeong has a lot of foreigners and foreigner-friendly bars. A cool little area in it's own right.
Enjoy, and good luck:) |

Convenient location, is that the one on line 7 near Onsu? I lived in Bupyeong and that was close enough for me. |

I wouldn't bother with Anyang. Seoul is just as close if not closer and has infinitely more going on. The foreigners in Anyang are cliquey as hell anyway. |
