The best album was probably 'Oh' by SNSD. 2010 has been a horrible year for music, so I can't think of anything good on the American front. Also, I haven't heard Beast's album but their song "every day I shock" was pretty good. The best song of 2009, also a terrible year for music, was "Saturday Night" by Son Dambi. The best album of 2008, another terrible year for music, was Metallica's "Death Magnetic" and that's the last good American album that I can think of.
How anybody could like Drake, I have no idea. He needs to go back to Sesame Street, or wherever the hell he's from.
Best movie, I don't really know. 'The Town' was okay, but it could have been better. I'm trying to think of other movies that came out this year. Oh yeah, "The Other Guys" with Will Ferrell was funny. It's one of his funnier performances.
Best TV series would have been The Pacific. |

That was hell to watch. Interesting at first but very quickly got boring as heck, mundane, almost torture to watch. It didn't pick up until the alpaca and the only character I think showing any worth watching more of was the donkey.
The 80-year-old Godard was influential in the past. Was this film really the best of 2010? Looks like an art house bore. |

I agree.... 2010 was a pretty lousy year.
I really liked the MGMT album, though... and Inception was a genuinely good film, even if it did rip off a Scrooge MacDuck comic. |

LOL, SNSD as a top 2010 song...
hahahaha.
Harry potter film was great. Inception I agree, Shutter Island is at least as good if not better.
I hear the third toy story was much better than the previous 2.
Social network is getting loads of good reviews.
Loads of great stuff this year. I won't even go into music. So much greatness from this year. 2011 is something i'm very much looking forward to. |

I forgot to mention, '2 Different Tears' by Wondergirls is even better. That's probably the best song released in 2010. |

I don't really like the guy's personality but Kanye West's album is excellent. ummm also the lcd soundsytem album..
Those are kind of boring picks though, they are on every top 100 list. My favorite track of the year is definitly 'Re-Up' from joker and ginz.

edit: actually that track was released in 2009. so my track of the year is
Shine Blockas by Big Boi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxBt_p8gFkw
I know it was made a few years ago but it was released this year.

If all the last 3 years have been terrible for music...maybe you've just hit the wall where you don't like new music so much. it happens to 90% of people around the age of 29. Seriously. I think the age is variable but thinking that whole 3 year blocks have been terrible for music is definitely cantankerous old man sounding.
I thought the last 3 years have been pretty good, just because there is such a great mix of music out there on the net. Especially in hip hop..record companies and their bs have become less important which is always good. The rise of the mixtape has been a boon for the hip hop fan. |

I agree 100%. I haven't really listened to new music in about 4-5 years, and I'm 33. There may be the occasional song or band that I find interesting, but these days I mostly listen to older stuff and even some mash-up. |
