All the ones so far I've seen at e-mart and the A# store at Coex suck ass.

Anyone know where I can get a top quality recent Linksys/Netgear/D-link router? I checked gmarket but they only have older routers as well.

I guess the Airport Extreme from A# store/Frisbee is an option; however it doesn't have QoS...

Thanks guys.

I made the mistake of having my internet service providers sell me one for 70,000 won when I first moved here. I could have gotten a decent one at Costco for 40,000.

It does the trick. I do reset it once a week, but that takes all of 10 seconds.

Try Yongsan as well, if you're close. You may get an even better deal.

Thanks NYC Gal, but I don't want a 40 dollar router Razz

I'm looking for highest quality because I have lots of wireless devices, lots of downloading, etc. So need the best router possible. Unfortunately, it seems that they are very hard to come by here.

Ok...I dont want to hijack this thread...but where can I find a cheap (20,000-30,000W) router that does 110v-220v? (The OP wants a high quality router)

I dont need anything powerful, just something to be able to use my wireless devices in my tiny 1-room. I'm going to America soon, but it's been near impossible to find a router that states whether it can work on 110v and 220v.

So you want something of commercial grade rather than one for home use?

Hi Ttompatz, no, more like, highest-grade of the consumer segment.

A Linksys WRT610N, the best D-Link or Netgear routers that are available in Europe/US... Something like that.

I don't like commercial grade routers that are less than $100 USD, they tend to have really weak processors and crash a lot.

No worries. I have an ipad, a macbook pro, a macbook, and my friends often use their laptops here. My download speed is pretty good too, and I've usually got stuff downloading. All on a 70,000 won router.

Anyway, do check out Yongsan's outdoor market. You get better prices outside if you know what you're looking for.

unfortunately Linksys is hard to come by here.
Even on Danawa they only have some lower end commercial grade stuff.

I found one place selling the one you mentioned
http://shopping.naver.com/search/all_search.nhn?where=all&query=WRT610N&cat_id=01060701&nv_mid=5477197742&frm=nv_product

way over priced.

The current linksys models are the E-series. The E3000 is the new big dog.

Any router will be ok, they run on DC power, thats why you need the external power adapter for them, so when in the US find any DC adapter that has the same output your new router needs, for example an example Netgear requires: "12V, 1.0A"

Thanks for the Naver link. I found a D-Link Dir-825 on there. Pricey (150-180k) but well worth it I believe.

just ask for the handsome discount if you're white...

i was getting over 8mb/s on wireless with torrents. its thats not good enough, then im not sure what you need..
