|
|
Let me first say that I dont think for even one moment that war will break out.
But if it did - I would steal a motor bike from a Quik Service guy and drive east to the coast. I would then get down to some fishing village or Pohang and steal a fishing boat and sail east to Japan. I would expect most boats to be gone b then anyway. |

How about signing up, being given a gun and help defend the land that has given you employment? |

imagine how annoying that would be for the korean military to have a bunch of foreigners sign up for the military and not be able to listen to simple orders. |

Believe me that is the last thing the military wants you to do.
Been watching "Red Dawn" again I see. Little secret for you. It was JUST A MOVIE! |

That's very noble of you. Why don't you sign up now and get some training beforehand? |

Sorry, but I think the presence of Patrick Swayze, C Thomas Howell and Charlie Sheen make it a little more than JUST a movie. |

Because a bunch of untrained English teachers who can't understand Korean would be a real liability to the military.
Besides which
parodies the average English teacher here "It's not in my contract!" |

Well, that would be some pretty wild fine print....
Section F, article 2: In case of the event of war, the NET will be required to report to the nearest military out post to be outfitted with fatigues and to be used as front line infantry (IE: canon fodder) for the ROK. Should the NET die during his time of service, neither severance or air fair will be paid. It will also be the NET's responsibility to apply for their pension refund before their remains are shipped home. |

No escape route for me. I'd stay put in my apartment and sleep until the end of the war. If NK wins I would probably be sent to some 're-education' camp for 6 months, or they'd deport me. If SK wins, back to work for a much devalued won which would take a year to recover to present levels. |

pretty much i would go buy my weight in water and non-perishable snacks and hunker down. wait a few days for the people to clear out and steal a car and head South, picking up some girl along the way and taking her with me to safety. She will grow to love me and we will leave Korea together... |

I'd go to the refugee camp or evacuation center or whatever and try and help out the elderly and infirm. If I actually felt for a minute like I wanted to be a hero I might go from place to place checking up on people who were shut ins or something....
Best thing we can do is stay out of everyone's way and not
A)Try to reenact Red Dawn. You and your buddies will probably just end up shooting some innocent people/yourselves.
B)Try to be Grizzly Adams. You'll probably die cold and alone, or stumble on that mountain and crack your head or get stranded and have to waste people's time to search for you. Plus I bet your forgot something in your survival pack.
Less Worse
C)Holing up in your apartment- Not bad, but about day 3 the lack of running water and a non-flushing toilet would result in some serious stank....of course thats what the Korean 24 TP pack and the alley outside your place are for...basically if you choose this option have a prearranged dump/pee spot outside of your building. Maybe even construct a throne over a storm grate or something.... |
