It is clear you donot understand who dogs are and what their duties are. Dogs bark, get over it and buy some ear plugs.

Wow. This is a fantastic response. "Ah, clearly you do not understand why the dog is barking. If you understood, you would enjoy the barking. Might I suggest purchasing some ear plugs?"

I'm with NY_Gal on this and i've also been around dogs most of my life. I've never been bitten, either.

Animals can sense things we can't, though. Dogs are particularily adept at sensing threats. Ever noticed a family pet (dog) and how it reacts to some guests at parties when they're around infants or small children.

Maybe you deserved to get bitten Very Happy

Maybe, primary school kids innocently walking to school of course are a direct threat to animals roaming the streets.......NOT. I remember that day well, I did nothing to warrant the attack.

SuperDave can't have a friendly repartee so let's continue.

You'll see warnings about NOT leaving kids unattended in the presence of dogs; now why is that?

WARNING MAY OFFEND

http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/6725745-uk-news-child-mauled-by-grandmothers-collie-dog-needs-200-stitches-in-his-face

etc etc etc.....

Maybe many people got through childhood without being mauled by the family pet, I managed to, but dogs are only animals after all, and potentially very dangerous ones at that. Is that the kind of pet you really want? Surely a hamster is more suitable.

When it comes to small dogs, little precious is never at fault. The blame is always put on the human for making noises and making the dog bark; old people are the worst offenders for this from my experience. Now before you go on about the benefits of little dogs which I'm fully aware of, dog owners are as bad as dogs. It's their animal, their responsibility to take the blame for it's actions.

Hehe , nice. No I picked fruit in 3 countries when I was younger. I was thinking about the parties we had during the picking seasons involved.

Back to the argument topic Smile

The majority of Politicians are trully altruistic people who enter politics because they want their country to be a better place to live for their grandchidren.

Banks/credit card companies/financial advisors deserve every penny they make because they are looking out for their customers interests

My friend has a dog, and he warned me before I went to his apartment for the first time that the dog would be terrified of me, and would never warm up, as it only loved him and had only recently become less timid around his long-term girlfriend.

Within 10 minutes I had that pooch on his back begging for tummy rubs and behind-the-ear scratches. I'm just good with animals.

Dogs need to be trained properly. I don't hate pit bulls, but I hate the owners who don't train them properly.

As for other cool pets: rats. They're smart, interactive, can be litter trained, and are pretty clean little dudes. They do love chewing up wires, though, if you don't keep an eye on them. One of mine figured out how to escape his old cage (they have thumbs) and created a lovely nest out of macbook pro charger wires, houseplant bits, figurines, and my keyboard cover.

Their tails are cute, too.

I love animals. They can tell.

I'm terrible with non mammals (including most birds, though my childhood parakeets were cool,) though. They creep me out, and they can tell as well. Embarassed

Are you saying you love mammals, and not birds etc, or that you 'love' them all but wouldn't want to relate with them in anyway? Kinda like my last relationship. Badum tss!

Most non-mammalian animals creep me out. They, in turn, can sense that I'm not comfortable with them, so are on edge.

I'm okay with small newts, parakeets, frogs, and (to an extent) small turtles, though. I've had all of those as pets.

Mammals rule, though. Gotta love that common ancestry.

Are you saying we don't have a common ancestor with Newts, but we do with dogs?

Are you saying Frogs and newts can 'sense' discomfort in you, but we can't sense it in them? or that your movements make it obvious that you're uncomfortable, and they can distinguish between that, and relaxed movement?

Yes! My son, 7 when it first aired, induced me to watch it with him. Turned into a weekly shared ritual for years.
