|
|
Hey there.
I am near Hongdae in Seoul.
I am just curious if anyone knows where the largest pet stores in Seoul are? With the largest variety of different types of pets. There are alot of interesting pets you can get here that we can't have in Australia.
And also does anyone know where to purchase herps? Especially pythons? Or does anyone in Korea on these forums collect herps and can tell me more about keeping them in Korea?
Thanks! |

There aren't big pet stores per se, but I did hear of a large pet market somewhere in Seoul. Not sure if you can find snakes there or not. |

So in your little apartment (sorry I'm assuming it's not too big) you want to have a large python, and obviously cage after cage of rats to feed the python?
Pretty awesome actually, but it's going to reek to high heaven. |

thanks for the feedback and thread link.
I was preferably looking to get one from a shop or breeder where I can inspect it and pick it.
metalhead. I would also see if there is a place that can sell frozen ones.
And it takes a while to get that big u need a larger enclosure. And well a single full grown carpet python would be fine for keeping room, not like its a scrub python or even an olive.
I use to own a bredli and a carpet intergrade in Australia. |

My second month in Korea, just before I ordered my first rat, a Korean homeroom teacher in my school took me to a pet shop that she told me sold exotic animals, thinking that we'd find one there. All they had were frozen rats for feeding snakes.
I was very upset when the salesman showed them to me.
It is better to feed your snake dead animals, rather than live ones, though, so it doesn't learn to go after moving things. |

Go to Dongmyo (line 1 & 6) station and head south towards the Cheongyechon stream. Head east or west, doesn't matter. That area of the stream is loaded with exotic pet shops. |

You can visit mowgli pets. Here;
http://www.mowglipet.co.kr/company/company.php?type=2
It seems that a fair number of animals on their website are sold out or you might have to order first. Maybe get a Korean to ring the store and find out what the deal is.
I was looking at getting a snake (or a lizard), but the size of my apartment is obviously a concern! Maybe a boa might be better than an actual python?
How long do you expect to be in Korea for, and if you buy a snake (or other exotic pet) would you take it back to Oz with you? Might be worth checking beforehand whether or not you can take the animal with you. There might be some restrictions on certain types of animals.
Also, it might be more difficult to offload a large snake, particularly on this board!
Let us know how things work out! |

NYC_Gal 2.0... aww I am sorry to hear about your traumatization! But good to know u can get frozen ones...
Thanks for the headsup Seoulsucker.. I'll go for a walk round there.
And jacksthirty. Don't know anything about boas cause we dont get them in Australia... of course it depends on the subspecies, but I generally thought boas were larger. I like carpet pythons anyways... so I will probably stick with them. Probably see if I can find a coastal. |

What do you guys mean by "exotic" pets? Snakes and... what else? I'm guessing there aren't any cheetahs, so I'm wondering what they sell. |

Let me know if anyone comes across an Almond Tease. That could be a fierce one. |
