Wouldn't a statement for or against (sans explanation) actually be just as or even more valuable in a statistical analysis. Explanations are better suited for qualitative research. Voting patterns are highly discussed in quantitative research.
However, I do agree that the responses would supply too small a sample to really hold any relevance. Although, I suppose if you specified that the findings were only relevant to Dave's ESL Cafe users, you might be able to get away with the small sample size.

I give you all my sincerest apologies, for The Front is now disbanded, I have decided to undertake the arduous task of maintaining my perfect hair, after all, there may be no god, but by jove if there is one, he has given me luscious locks (and nothing else, obviously).

Dear Leader turned out to be a phoney; leaving me all alone. I have more pressing matters though like selling my D40 Nikon camera.
I do notice a reduction in the use of +1 without a reason why; it seems like we did cause a minor Revolution. |
