It's the time to compete who is the lazier
Back to the topic, the rumor has been on internet since this summer. I certainly hope it is just another stupid decision which would finally get aborted like the "Green Dam" (the Green Dam was a software developed to be installed obligatorily to help purify the internet environment in China, but it was not passed due to the strong opposition from the public) .
I am super super disappointed lots of rules and principles in China are made by a bunch of [Mod Edit] who sit in an office everyday, probably have a degree in " writing poems" and a title as some expert" (from 1940s).
Its such a pain for me(as a science major) to convert the Chinese science terms I was taught in school into English when I first came to Korea...
Hopefully in 3018, Chinese will be the official science language in the world and then I would agree their decision is right. |

Such practices "severely damaged the standard and purity of the Chinese language and disrupted the harmonious and healthy language and cultural environment, causing negative social impacts," the body said on its website. |
As opposed to character simplification? Traditional characters are far more beautiful and meaningful than simplified equivalents. The idea that they went ahead with that cultural butchery, and then decide to make a stand against internationally-used acronyms is ridiculous. |

I don't care.
All I care are the American National Basketball Association games on the China Central Television channel 5 .

She's talking about a government, and the Chinese government in particular. Her remarks seem restrained to me. |

You apparently don't know what she said. It was disparaging remark generally used about group of people (and I'm not talking about the Chinese government). |

The government has to change. Its not young/flexible and its not in touch with today. She's right, its from a different age. |

The Mods edited it out! The "[Mod Edit]" was a very inappropriate slur that has nothing to do with the Chinese government. It's a highly offensive slur regardless of its content. |
