Hey fellow peeps! I am SO new to all this, nervous but excited to venture out! I received an offer from EWAS school in Busan. Has anyone heard of the company?

What are your thoughts on teaching in Busan? Is it easy to meet and date people? I am single gal so that is important Smile

Can anyone help me with the contract details? The hours seem long...9-6..is that normal? Pay is 2.1, i have no certs or experience.

Also-should I get an TEFL cert?

Thank you!

EWAs was in the news for feeding kindy kids seven year old bacon. However, EWAS could be a franchise run system each with a different owner.. etc..

The hours are long - at one of the Seoul EWAS locations, there wasn't any prep time, just a lunch break. The teachers all spent their lunch hours correcting homework.

If your hours are 9-6, you'd better make sure you know what the actual teaching hours are. Six teaching hours in a day's quite enough for many people, and seems to be the industry standard. At EWAS you might have eight.

I went in to do a trial week once at EWAS and the teachers looked tired and harried all the time. I decided against staying.
