I'm tempted to fly into Hanoi, train to Hue and after a while, make my to Luang Prabang. Eventually back to Hanoi to fly back to ICN.
Anyone done this by land? I've been reading up on thorn tree but would love to hear about some experiences & what people recommend. |

| I did it the opposite way (Luang Prabang to Hui, train to Hanoi). Really painless, very easy, nothing else to say. You can take a bus direct from Hui to Savannakhet. I can answer any more specific questions you might have. |

| I really don't recommend trying to do that trip in less than two weeks, and would probably shoot for more like three. I think I did it in something like 17 days and it still felt a bit rushed. |
