I'm headed to Phuket next week. Are the electrical outlets the same as they are in Korea? I googled and got confused! I need to be able to charge my batteries and wonder if I'm going to need to bring power adapters or not.

Thanks

Electricity is 220VAC and 50Hz (Korea is 220VAC and 60Hz). Most of your electronics and all the other stuff from Korea will work just fine.

Things like electric clocks will run a bit off but all else are OK.

Plugs are typically the same and MOST places have a universal 2 prong round/flat wall sockets (not 3 prong). If you have a 3-prong plug you will need an adapter.

Are you sure about that? Thailand's receptacles do accommodate both the US-style flat prongs and Continental Europe-style round prongs, but the thing is that the Continental prongs are like 1 mm thinner than Korean-style round prongs, and therefore a Korean plug is too fat to fit into a Continental receptacle (I've tried). Perhaps the extended opening for the flat prong allows Thai receptacles to fit Korean plugs, it just never occurred to me that they would.

I live here more than 1/2 of the year. I use appliances with all 3 types of plugs.

Yes, I am sure.

they are the exact same, same sockets, same voltage 220 V. A lot of the sockets will take either the 220 or 110 plugs, just be careful when plugging in your 110 plug and make sure your unit is a newer unit that can handle both 110 and 220.

I use my Samsung computer, which I bought in Korea, here in Thailand.
