The rules I gave above were the main rules issued by Korea for Korean embassies to work with from 2008-2010, and as far as I know the EPIK contract and NOA rule still exists for issuances now
.
The Wellington embassy in NZ was strictly enforcing a policy of only issuing visas into passports of those with office of education EPIK contract NOAs for public schools and refusing to do interviews for those going to hagwons or those with issuance numbers.
Ive definitely heard that Korean embassies and consulates in USA have not been at all keen to do the visa process for applicants of other passports. I heard the same for Canada; Only Canadian passport holders can get their visa done in Canada.
Instead of just taking the word of a recruiter or from this board why not phone the Korean embassy in Wellington NZ or the consulate and ask them directly what your situation would be.
It is well known that rules can change at a moments notice with Korea and the visa process, so what was working in 2010 may not happen in 2011 |
