So, can anyone say for certain how much DOS charges for our FBI CBC and degree copy to be apostilled? I am hearing $5, $7 and $8. Which is it? When my time comes, I don't want to be playing the guessing game with the fee. Why does every website/person say a million different things? I need to hurry and tell my parents to rush over a money order for me, and I don't know what to tell them. I wish I were psychic.

It's $8 per document for the Department of State to apostille your FBI CBC. Verify it on the Department of State's website since they are the ones issuing it:
http://www.state.gov/m/a/auth/

If your diploma copy is not notarized, the State Department will not put an apostille on it. Also, if it is a state level notary, the Department of State will not notarize it- they only give apostilles for FEDERAL level notarizations. This would include having it done at the Embassy here. If you have had your diploma copy notarized, the fee for the apostille from the State Department will be $8, but if you send it to a state in the US for an apostille it could be anywhere from $3-$25, depending on the state. If your diploma copy was notarized in a particular state, it must be sent to that same state for the notary. Here's a link that includes the phone number, address and fee for every state:
