Sister-in-law is visiting from the US and this evening left her new digital camera in a taxi right outside her apartment. We didn't have the taxi number or even register which company it was really, although I think it was a privately registered taxi (not public company). I've tried calling the call taxi numbers and they have no system for reporting lost items. I'm not sure what else to try- go to the central police station tomorrow? I've also tried calling the local tourist information center (area code + 1330) but the line was busy. So I may try going in person tomorrow, as I'm hoping they might be able to do something like contact all the city-wide taxis and ask around about a tourists' lost camera. (I'm not in Seoul, but a provincial city).

Any other ideas about what to try to locate this camera?

What city are you in?

Do a Daum search for your city + 택시 유실물센터.

Good luck. My mom did the same thing when my folks came over for our wedding back in 95. Hope you have a happier ending. She never recovered hers...

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any unified lost and found center for my city (Jeonju). Sad

good luck getting it. I was here merely a week and completely obliviated and sprawled all over the front seat. I was yelling at the adjeussi to go left and right to my house which i had absolutely no idea where it was and ended up spending 10,000 for a usually 2 minute cab ride. Anyway my iPod fell out with some great movies on there i wish i still had Embarassed I know some Korean is enjoying them more than i am right now Twisted Evil
