|
|
I have just been informed that as of Dec. 1st 2010 E-2 VISA holders are no longer required to purchase re-entry permits if they return within their E-2 visa stay duration
just wanted to confirm if anybody else has heard this or spread the news if it's in fact true |

It is true but if you are worried about it, pop into the immigration office in the airport (along the back wall behind check-in counter "F" or "H" (it has 2 doors)) and you can confirm to your satisfaction that you do not need one.

Yeesh! If that's true, then that's the first(and only)good news coming out of ROK immigration in 3 years. |

Has anyone actually tested this and entered without a multiple entry stamp? How often does the immigration phoneline or webpage say one thing, but the person you have to deal with has a completely different set or rules? For me its been pretty much every time.
It would be nice to know if this rule is truly enacted. |

If you are really worried about it, simply pop into the immigration office at the airport (doors are behind check-in counters "F" and "H"). Show your ARC and they will confirm that you do not need a re-entry permit.

Marky Mark, you were just out of Korea for a week. Does it matter how long you leave for? I'm going on a 2 week vacation. |

Everything I've heard has been up to a year, one week isn't going to make a difference. |

If you hold an F5 then you can be out for up to 2 years.
If you hold any other visa then you must return before your ARC expires.

Adding to the 'confirmations'
I have phoned immigrations hotline. They told me this. I wasn't happy just having a voice on the phone tell me.
Booked an appointment (so there is a record and I could have a name) and headed in. Was told the same thing. Not needed if you follow '1 year' rule. |
