Of attaining anything higher-up than NYC mayor. Here's hoping that the snurricane of 2010 crushes his chances of a run for the presidency in 2012! |

My mom's a teacher, and I see how her quality of life has changed.
I've many civil-servant friends and family members (medics, police, social workers, teachers) who have been screwed by his administration. At last sanitation was able to get him back for the demotions by not cleaning the city up as quickly as they usually do. My sister's a medic, and was told that they had 20 minutes dedicated to each patient's needs. After that, they had to move on. The cut backs are really ridiculous. |

It is a pension problem. It will be fixed, and you're friends/family won't like it. |

It's also a tenure problem. And a demotion problem. And a doubling workload problem. No, they don't like it. Let's hope this blizzard snafu snowballs out of control and he can't get elected anywhere again. |

He's just prescribed what many politicians are going to have to do for the indefinite future. Times have changed. And some of us are in full favor of scrapping tenure. |

He wouldn't run against Obama anyway, so 2012 was never on the table.
But really, are your issues with him political, or personal? |

From what my friends at City Hall tell me, he's seriously considering it, but waiting it out to see what happens in the next 6 months.
I don't like how he's running the city. It's my home city, so I suppose you could say it is personal. |

Scrapping it for new teachers, sure, but for those who've earned it already?
He's firing older teachers. Teachers who've got only a few years left until retirement. This doesn't bode well. |

Did you hear the story about the lady who lost her baby in labor because she couldn't get through to 911? She attempted to walk for help and just couldn't make and wound up losing the baby. Saddest thing I've heard in a long time. Bloomberg said that 911 responders were slower due to spending time with families on the holiday. She'll never have a Christmas with her child. He can forget about his political career.(I'm on east coast right now in Caroilna and I've been following the news. My brother was stuck in Freeport LI) |

Id say that Bloomberg being a jew would be a far bigger detriment to his presidential aspirations than anything that happened during his tenure as NYC mayor. |

It had nothing to do with them spending time with families. Most of the EMS workers I know (my little sister included) were working double shifts. |
