Does anyone know of a cheap love motel in this area? Preferably close to the Japanese embassy.

City Motel. It is across from an entrance to one of the palaces. Behind a GS mart / gas station. 40,000 a night for a small but clean room. Stayed there several times.

Its a disgusting area. Unless you can find a room with soundproof windows, expect to hear from the street ajosshis pissing, hoking, puking, fighting, agasshi's screaming, clip-clopping, yelling, crapping, hitting, smashing bottles, arguing, burping, talking loudly etc.. the entire night.

I've found the places east of Insadong, east of the Nakwon (sp?) Arcade to be better than the ones farther west. No particular recommendation though, over the years they've come and gone....

I can't recommend the Tomgi Hotel enough. It's at Jongo Sam Ga, can't remember what exit number.

With the 75,000W option you get a huge sunken in two person jacuzzi tub with television set, a shower with massage jets and steamer that shoot out of the wall, 100" flatscreen, two PC's with good sound system, great bed and couches, heated toilet bidet, basically everything you want including sexy movies on video on demand or DVD.

They had rooms for 55,000 which I assume were close to as good but without the nice tub.
