1. please do not turn this into a bash Korea fest
2. I made a comment/joke a number of months ago to a friend who was thinking of coming for an E2 job that I was pretty sure that hardened criminals released from western jails don't have to take HIV and drug tests twice a year if released on parole. I am now setting out to determine what the reality is both in Korea and elsewhere. My Korean isn't bad, but if you have links to anything that clearly defines parole conditions in Korea and in your home country, please post.
3. I am an academic and not an English teacher (anymore), so one more time, please do not turn this into a flaming thread.
thanks. |

You have submit an HIV Test in prison.
and part of ones' basic parole conditons would be that they are unable to leave their current state of residence ( let alone a foreign country).
What are you asking? Korean Jails' aren't even comparable to Americans'.
I don't think there is even a such thing as Korean Parole. If your crime is that bad, you probably just get sent to a concentration-like-camp place. |

As regards number 2 E-2's don't have to take HIV and drug tests twice a year. It's once every two years (IF you stay at the same job). If you transfer to another school at the end of each contract then it's once per year. |
