My ARC expires 2 days before my flight. I love how contracts always last longer than visas....at any rate....Does anyone know if I can extend my visa 2 days at the airport? I assume that there is a fee for doing this, but is the fee the same as if I were to visit immigration ahead of time? Or is there a penalty for waiting until the card is expired? Is there a way to do this online through the immigration website?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

You CANNOT do it at the airport.

You CAN do it at your local immigration office (the one that issued your ARC) or you can do it on-line if you have access to a FAX or scanner

( http://www.g4f.go.kr/pt/CvlapplInfoDetailR_en.pt?pageSpec=&targetRow=&lafjOrderBy=&onlineApplYn=Y&appcYn=Y&sLOrgnCd=&sSOrgnCd=&sCvlapplNm=&cvlapplCd=12700000095&orgnCvlapplCd=J02&userId=&locale=en )

You need:
ARC
Passport
ticket out of Korea (printed e-ticket is fine).
Application

The cost is free and you can extend until the date of your ticket (up to 30 days beyond your ARC).

Failure to get an extension WILL result in delays at the airport (because you are in an over-stay position) and may also result in a fine and/or detention (if you are unable or unwilling to pay the fine). If will also make it very difficult to return to work in Korea at any future time (should you ever decide to do so).

Thank you very much...this helps out greatly as our immigration office is over the mountains and through the woods from our house.

Yep, my ARC is also 3 days short of a full year. So I can extend to March 1st online by sending them scanned copies of my documents? Sounds easy enough, because the immigration office is difficult to go to.

It gives you a printout of the extension to show immi at the airport when checking out of the country?
