I'd be hard pressed to choose a best one, but I've been playing alot of this guy recently.

4 hours and 20 minutes(to H-Town) by Curren$y. Loved this guy ever since he was the only rapper who could live with lil wayne on those classic mixtapes from 04/05. Hes on an independent kick these days and his flow suits it. |

The best rap I ever heard was after the mute button was pressed. |

That actually doesn't work if you think about it.
I'll tell you what though...I've never seen a thread titled best 'classical/country/jazz' song ever and decided to post on it. I don't like those types of music so I stay away. |

lol at ice t ever being good. He might be more 'real' than rappers nowadays but I can think of 20 guys who could destroy him today off the top of my head. And 'me so horny'? Jesus Christ.
You don't listen to modern rap. That's cool. I don't think you should put it down just because you like a different era.
Here is a modern classic. Ghostface doing his hyper coke rap thing on 'Shakey Dog'. Ghostface is one of the most evocative story tellers in hip
hop.

Yep. I would say more but would get accused of being 'racist', so I'll just end it with...
Yep. |

So what? It's like Americans coming into any thread about soccer just to let everyone know they hate soccer.
But yeah, if I meet someone that likes 'rap', I immediately assume that they have a low IQ. Same as meeting a chick that likes Twilight, it's just the way it is (for me). |

I just realized that my last two posts are going to come off as being wrong; my 'racist' remark was actually about white people listening to rap, not whatever may have been construed from the last two posts put together. |

I never assume that someone has low intelligence from their taste in anything. Some of the most intelligent people I've known have had pretty questionable taste in my eyes/and general society when it comes to fashion/music/art/literature etc.
I don't understand people coming into a thread about soccer to say how much they hate soccer. You aren't going to change anyone's opinion so.. What's the point? Its just...small minded. Be anything but don't be small minded. I have no idea what you are talking about when you mention racism. |

See I think the same about metal, and in terms of lyrical and musical content rap, at it's best is more diverse and complex than metal.

See Leon, I'm going to have to disagree with you. Metal is far more diverse and skilled, musically and lyrically, than rap can ever be.
I do, however, realize that a lot of metal is rubbish, and I'm not just talking about the -core stuff (which isn't metal).
See, I've had the misfortune to listen to a lot of rap, I seriously doubt that you have listened to metal that incorporates jazz (like Atheist or Cynic), or symphonic opera (like Therion), or total minimalism of music (like Darkthrone's Transyilvanian Hunger or Ulver's Nattens Madrigal).
There is nothing you can say (or do actually) to prove me wrong. |

Ha, of course not. I like some metal, just pointing out how many people see people who listen to metal, which is funny to see some one calling themselves metal head take a condescending tone. I also maintain that most rap is terrible, which is what I suppose you've probably been exposed to. |

Of course not. We are talking about music, everything is opinion. There is something decidedly wrong about the way you think. |
