|
|
Hello,
I've been here for a year plus, and I'm now looking for a hagwon job in/around Insadong. I'm not a huge fan of recruiters, I've found they often just send a bunch of junk emails or match me with jobs that aren't close to what I requested. Is there another way to look for jobs?
Thanks! |

If you know which area you want to work in, then just go door-to-door. Print up a stack of resumes and business cards. Make sure that both have a nice photo of you on them and a link to a website with another copy of your resume (more detailed perhaps) and more photos of you teaching. Get a haircut and dress well when you make your rounds. Most will not be hiring, so don't feel let down. Even if only 5 out of 100 are hiring, it's enough to give you some choice. If you know any other English teachers (Korean or foreign) you work in that area, then ask them if they know about any schools that might be hiring soon. There's always someone who's finishing up their contract in the next couple months. Schools would much rather hire someone that they can meet in person than a faceless voice on the phone. |

Use all recruiters and investigate all ads. Why limit yourself to Insa-dong? |
