They are about a hour and a half each but they are written and directed by Taikia Waititi.

First one is 'Boy' set in 1984, about the growing pains of a young Maori boy who loves Michael Jackson - I won't say anymore but watch out for the Maori version of 'Thriller' at the end - awesome stuff!

Second is 'Eagle vs Shark' people compare this to 'Napoleon Dynamite' and though the main characters of 'Jarrod' and Napoleon look similar and may act similarish - but I think The Eagle vs Shark is a far better film.

Let me know what you think - a good three hours invested!

If you have seen these films - share the love!

Wow, I watched Eagle vs Shark years ago... loved the movie. Thinking back now, I've just realized it has Jermaine (Flight of the Conchords) in it!!

I watched Eagle vs Shark too soon after Napolean Dynamite which was a mistake. I thought it was appalling. Maybe I should watch it again. My taste may have changed.
I haven't watched Boy, but friends whose opinion I value told me not to bother.

Yes, I'm that poster - Debbie Downer and Negative Nelly rolled into one. Twisted Evil
