I was planning to take a flight to the U.S. that has me flying Air China to Beijing and then transferring to United Airlines.
My layover is 3 hrs and 5 minutes in Beijing.
Beijing airport says this might not be enough time to transfer, even though I will be arriving in the same terminal as United, and that I could miss my connecting flight.
Since the airport is telling me this, I'm guessing this happens quite frequently.
Anyone with experience transferring at the Beijing airport? |

Problem is not so much the running between gates (easy to do in under 60 minutes including a stop at the transfer desk) as it is the on-time performance of Air China (running 2 hours late in not that uncommon - especially in winter).

I decided on American Airlines through Narita, instead.
It's not worth the risk to miss a connecting flight. |

You have to go thru immigration to make a transfer at Beijing airport. So it takes a while. I hope your plane to Beijing arrives on time. I don't know........................ Personally I would avoid any flights to Beijing airport alltogether. |
