kind of refreshing actually, but Mr. Campbell obviously knew what he was doing teaching wise before coming here.

Think he'll be replaced in a year or two?

on the part of Campbell's students? you'll have to ask him.

I just thought it'd be nice to share this small victory on behalf of the ESL crowd that is easily the most disparaged and discriminated against, by both their Korean employers and the wider ESL NET community as a whole.

The old/aging, fat guy Very Happy

Think this might skew the bias toward hiring older/fatter guys instead of the young, blonde and buxom and hopefully somewhat slim gal?

I thought not Wink

Congratulations to Mr. Campbell.

The article was a bit misleading, however, as more than fifty teachers received the exact same award from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (minimum two teachers per district with twenty-five districts).

It was nice to be acknowledged, but it's not quite as exclusive as I first thought.

I am curious how many received 50,000 in gift checks or 100,000.

At least they're recognizing people. It's actually more than what I was expecting.

I love the idea about the crime scene. If only my sixth graders were up to stuff...

He interviews almost 40 students per class class in the high school job interview 50 minute lesson? Wow, those must be short interviews! Does he move from booth to booth and have only one Co-teacher? What do the other students do while he interviews one at a time? Or, were those group interviews?

That was really nice. Very Happy

It does sound like he has good ideas, and the confidence and presence to carry them out. Good on him!

What I also like about this article is it eludes to the lack of organization and communication from the school's end. How do you hire someone and not tell them it is an all boy's school? During the interview process wouldn't that be something you would ask a candidate what they feel are the strengths and weaknesses, and what they will do differently in an all boys school as opposed to a coed school?

This article makes Cambell look awesome.
