I'm considering applying for a university job. I'm going to finish my academy contract (CDI) in June/July (or later) and hoping to work for a university. I have a master's degree in journalism.
I'm looking now, but all I see are jobs available for March. I would like to get this finished sooner rather than later. Where can I look? Do they post jobs for the upcoming fall?
And I could not find the forum regarding university jobs. Any help would be wonderful!
Thank you so much! |

Fall jobs start at the beginning of September. Schools do not start advertising for some time. Check Dave's Korean job listings in the Spring, check individual university homepages and some TEFL sites. |

I co-share the job for hiring at the uni I'm at now, and we hire twice a year. They post the job ads about 4-5 months in advance, just to make sure everyone has their docs in order. Obviously I can't speak for every uni in Korea, but that's how it is done here. Each year, they ask me to re-sign before the job ads are even posted for other unis. It's the one and only time the higher-ups have any foresight whatsoever. Long story short, unless there is a no-show or someone does a runner, late February/early March is the soonest you could hope for, or wait for late August/early September. Might be exceptions, though, so keep poking around. |
