This just California in general. If you live there, it is best advised in most cases to just leave. You can make a better living in places like Washington or Arizona. It is really too bad since California is such a beautiful state, nice people too.

Jeffers and Yang, his fianc, took their daughter to an urgent care center, where specialists told them to go to the emergency room. By the time they arrived at Methodist, he said, splotches that looked like bruises had developed on Malyia's cheeks, and she was "getting really weak," he said. "After a while, she couldn't even walk," and her fever had jumped to 103 degrees.

Jeffers, 29, said he pushed for immediate care, but was rebuffed. After about five hours, he said, he ambushed a nurse and demanded to see a doctor. The physician took blood samples that suggested Malyia was in liver failure, Jeffers said. She was taken by ambulance to the pediatric intensive care unit at Sutter Memorial Hospital. Doctors there had her flown to Stanford aboard a helicopter.

You are engaging in fallacious argumentation when you state that since
Congress passed Obama's health care plan, and this is after the fact and at a hospital that it's in connection to the provisions of the bill. What is the connection exactly?

Furthermore, you stated that socialized medicine is worse than completely privatized medicine. You are stating that because it is viewed that there are not the wait times as seen in socialized medicine.
However, you forget that in socialized systems people can afford to see the doctor and there would be more preventive care. Since less people will see a doctor in a privatized system, then more people would probably die for not having seen a doctor to get regular check ups.

Canadians have a longer life expectancy than Americans, though they tend to smoke more than Americans. I am not sure if it's because they are more likely to visit a hospital and get check-ups or not, but it could
be one reason. I don't think the cold weather is doing the trick and giving them a boost.

For the record, I don't like Obama's health plan. I feel bad for this girl, but such things happened to the poor before the bill was passed.
It's not so surprising, really. It's a tragedy what has happened. Imagine if that were your daughter.

Props to recessiontime for admitting a mistake.

I wish people would actually read and investigate things before passing judgement and yelling about it. Obviously unless Obama appointed the triage nurse at that hospital, he didn't have much effect on this.

There are too many people who yell about Obama giving them Soviet hospitals while complaining that he'll cancel their God-given Medicare welfare programs.

socialized medicine rocks, you know it.

A couple arrives at a private, for-profit hospital that makes their young girl wait for 5 hours, almost killing her in the process, and leaves them with tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills that they almost assuredly cannot afford due to their health insurance plan insufficiently covering them, and your opinion is that the problem is socialized medicine? The only way this situation could have been less socialized is if the emergency room had turned her away outright due to not being able to pay in advance.

This is certainly what the future will holds for socialized medicine. Plus, be sure to kiss grandma today, because the government may grant her another day. This is Obama's America.

Massive fail by OP.

It's scary that People's opinions have been so warped by Fox news that they think when a private hospital messes up or an insurance company rips someone off 'socialized medicine' is to blame.

Reminds me of this:

President Obama at a town hall meeting last week described a letter he received from a Medicare recipient:

Quote:
"I got a letter the other day from a woman. She said, 'I don't want government-run health care. I don't want socialized medicine. And don't touch my Medicare.'"
At a town hall meeting held by Rep. Robert Inglis (R-SC):

Someone reportedly told Inglis, "Keep your government hands off my Medicare."
"I had to politely explain that, 'Actually, sir, your health care is being provided by the government,'" Inglis told the Post. "But he wasn't having any of it."
It's no wonder with "very serious" analysts like Arthur Laffer are appearing on CNN and saying things like this (and getting away with it unchallenged):

"If you like the post office and the Department of Motor Vehicles and you think they're run well, just wait till you see Medicare, Medicaid and health care done by the government."

Unfathomable stupidity.
