Alec Baldwin wants to run for politics
I don't care if I agree with anything he says. I can't abide this at all. |

I don't about this, but I enjoy him on TCM with Robert Osborne.
My TCM guide was ordered early this week and I am looking forward to getting that in the mail.
"Morocco" with Gary Cooper and Marlene Dietrich is an excellent 1930 film I have seen recently on TCM. I highly recommend the film. |

"I do believe that people want to believe that someone who deeply cares about the middle class--for whatever reason--whatever your heritage and your background and so forth--would like to seek public office."
Going further, Baldwin said American politics has become overly inhabited by elite, Ivy League types. "We've had men who are Ivy League-groomed running this country since 1988. Weve had 22 years of Yale and Harvard and the problems aren't getting solved." |
The Hollywood populist? |

The whole notion is ridiculous. New York isn't a failed state. It hasn't yet become California.
Somebody give him a leading man role in a blockbuster, already. You'd be doing the nation a service. |

Well we can already tell that he is going to try and use his 30 Rock character's persona and appeal to conservatives with "anti-elite" statements like this while counting on his liberal base. He's positioning himself to get swing voters and the disaffected.
He actually might have a chance. At the very least he knows the lingo and the right code words to drop. |

Obama used to say stuff like that until he got into office. Then he did a sudden U-turn and started serving the said elite. because he is one of them.
If Baldwin is given rave reviews by the media then you can probably be sure he is actually one of the core elite as well. Considering that they control the media. |
