I have accepted a job offer starting March 4th and have been told by the admin there that I should have my visa transferred to circumvent getting a new criminal check. I am from England so my current check is already a national one, when I checked with EPIK they said I didn't need a new one if I had been resident in Korea since the date of issue.
For some reason my new employers have ignored this and told me to get a letter of release. I am confused as my current contract finishes on January 27th, so there would be a month-long lapse between contracts. I have been led to believe that a release letter would nullify my contract immediately...would I still be working legally if I completed my contract?
I realize this is really convoluted, but a week of conflicting theories on what I should do has left me scratching my head 
Any advice/info gratefully received. |

You may have problems, even with a LOR since the contracts are supposed to be concurrent (gap of less than 30 days) and you are more than 1 calendar month (36 days).
When does your ARC expire?
