I'm pretty sure what you're doing isn't legal.

I love your justifications for why what you're doing is legal

Yes because advertising a used sofa and cashing in and accepting payments on something that isn't a business but conveniently called something you do "just for fun" are completely the same.

Just because you're accepting dollars, doesn't make it any less dodgy. So I can open up a site that sells (insert merchandise here) and as long as it's not Korean currency it's ok (even though it's safe to assume in this case most people would exchange that money for won)?

It's only a matter of time until other people take notice and exploit this loophole. They will say the same thing, "it's not a business I swear! It's just for fun!"

Your lessons on euphemisms must go really well at that job of yours.

I think more people should take advantage of this loophole. Wink

I can envision a scenario where someone would be working for the PS system and teaching on-line through some foreign company or even privately, being paid to a foreign bank account and technically the Korean gov't has no say in the matter.

I too would like to know if it is possible to hawk sweatshop manufactured merchandise I bought for pennies on the dollar or if I can charge kiss my butt money on video ESL lessons via Paypal.

Simon and Martina,

More power to both of you! Keep doing what you are doing.

Several ambitious Korean Teachers, as well as, Native Teachers have revenue generating websites, give public presentations, write and publish books, edit and create tests, etc.

All types of exceptions can be made by our employers and amendments can be made to our visas.

Know your rights and don't let others distract you from reaching your goals.

More power to you. If you have the initiative and a plan

Go for it.

Maybe you could end up running your own on-line teaching business and not have to deal with any of the visa hassles.

This whole thread reads like a bunch of whiners who are jealous of this couple's creativity and success here.

....not whiners.

I don't normally advocate name calling, but
I smell a RAT. and nobody likes a RAT.

Seems like some people should worry about themselves and
not what others are doing. Are they hurting you?

Again, some of you sound vidictive for some reason.
Live and let live.
