| Okay so my boss got me a cell phone but its a CANU one and there is no way to change the language to english, he spent a good bit of money on it i think and am just wondering what should I do? should i wait till I get my ARC card and get one myself or any suggestions? |

| I believe virtually all cell phones these days have an english option on it. Find a technically Korean competent to set it for you. Also, if you do successfully get it set to english, some of the more specific functions of the phone may still have its instructions in Korean. You won't be able to change those. |

This is true. There is a setting on the phone to change the language, just like there is a setting on TVs/Monitors to change it to English.
Just look for an icon that looks like settings and click around, eventually you'll find it! That's what I did. |

This is true. There is a setting on the phone to change the language, just like there is a setting on TVs/Monitors to change it to English.
Just look for an icon that looks like settings and click around, eventually you'll find it! That's what I did. |

Unlike most of the handsets in Korea made by Samsung or LG, this 'CanU' series are assembled by Curitel. It's a joint operation between LG U+ and Casio of Japan, thus their handsets might not have any English interface programmed into the firmware from the very beginning.
Nevertheless, OP, you can learn to read Korean menus just for key functions rather than to toss away your new handset. It's not like you're ever gonna use all of the functions on your handset, nor that you need to master your Korean skill up to the level you can argue about Confucius or Wittgenstein in Korean just to make a phone call or send texts, add numbers to your phonebook, set alarms, etc. |

I've had a curitel phones in the past, and it did have an english option. However, this phone might be an exception, but I doubt it. |

| Have you tried flicking through the manual? Mine was all in Korean but near the back the instructions on changing the language was in English. It took 3 English/ Korean adults to figure out how to do it with the instructions, but my students changed it back and forth to Korean within 20 seconds so you could get a kid to try! I also got my last phone to English just by handing it to the shop assistant and asking them to do it. |
